House Democrats Release Epstein Photos Featuring Trump and Clinton
Full Transcript
House Democrats on the Oversight Committee have released a batch of photographs obtained from the estate of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, which include images of former Presidents Donald Trump and Bill Clinton, along with other notable figures like Bill Gates and Woody Allen.
The photos were part of a trove of 95,000 images provided to the committee, which the Democrats stated are raising further questions about Epstein's connections with powerful individuals. White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson criticized the release, claiming Democrats are selectively releasing photos to create a false narrative about Trump, while House Democrats expressed their commitment to transparency and the need for further investigations into Epstein's associates.
The images, released without context, include a signed photo of Clinton alongside Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, and several images of Trump at public events, with faces of other individuals redacted. Rep.
Robert Garcia, the top Democrat on the committee, mentioned that some of the photos are 'incredibly disturbing' and emphasized the urgency for the full release of Epstein-related files, particularly as the Justice Department faces a deadline under the Epstein Files Transparency Act by December 19.
The Democrats plan to continue releasing additional photos in the coming weeks, while Republicans have accused them of cherry-picking images to advance a political agenda, asserting that nothing in the documents shows any wrongdoing.
This release comes amid ongoing scrutiny of Epstein's affairs and connections, including the legal repercussions faced by his associates, particularly Ghislaine Maxwell, who was convicted of sex trafficking and is currently serving a 20-year sentence.
