Furthermore, Bloomberg reported that Netflix is in discussions with iHeartMedia, a prominent podcast publisher known for popular shows like Stuff You Should Know and The Breakfast Club. These negotiations suggest that Netflix is seeking exclusivity, which would prevent featured shows from being uploaded to YouTube, a key competitor in the podcast space.

Spotify, which has been aggressively expanding its podcast reach, recently surpassed one billion monthly active podcast viewers at the beginning of 2025. The initial deal Netflix inked includes nine sports podcasts, featuring notable titles like The Bill Simmons Podcast and The Zach Lowe Show.
