Diego Maradona Animated Series in Development by Reliance Animation

Reliance Animation, a division of Reliance Entertainment based in Mumbai, India, is set to develop an animated series based on the life of soccer icon Diego Maradona. The studio has secured character intellectual property rights through a deal brokered with SATTVICA SA, the Argentina-based rights holder for Maradona's intellectual property, and mediated by Bridge Marketing Group Inc.

The series aims to chronicle Maradona's journey from his early years in Villa Fiorito, Argentina, to his rise as an international superstar in the world of soccer. Key moments from his illustrious career, including his triumphs and personal struggles, will be explored to highlight his cultural influence both on and off the pitch.

Shibasish Sarkar, CEO of Reliance Entertainment, expressed excitement about bringing Maradona's extraordinary story to a new generation, emphasizing themes of resilience, passion, and achievement that transcend sports.

Tejonidhi Bhandare, CEO of Reliance Animation, noted that this project represents a landmark moment for the studio, aiming to capture the spirit and struggles of Maradona's life in a way that resonates with diverse audiences.

Rita Maradona, representing SATTVICA SA and Diego's sisters, conveyed their pride in collaborating with Reliance, focusing on reaching the younger audience to ensure that all children can learn about their brother's legacy.

Samuel Nieto, CEO of Bridge Marketing Group Inc., highlighted that this partnership will extend Maradona's legacy, stating that it will be a beautiful story told through the magic of animation. The announcement of this animated series was made during the WAVES Film Bazaar, which is part of the International Film Festival of India held in Goa.
