Amazon's 'God of War' Series Receives Two-Season Order

Amazon's adaptation of the critically acclaimed video game 'God of War' has received an exciting two-season order. According to Engadget, this marks a significant step forward in the production process, which is currently in pre-production in Vancouver.

The series is based on the 2018 video game that draws heavily from Norse mythology. It follows the story of Kratos and his son Atreus as they embark on a journey to spread the ashes of Faye, Kratos's wife and Atreus's mother.

Notably, he earned an Emmy award in 2024 for outstanding directing for a drama series for his work on 'Shogun.' Amazon initially announced the 'God of War' series back in 2022, but the project faced some challenges along the way.

Last year, the original showrunner departed the project, leading to Ronald D. Moore taking over the role. Currently, casting is underway for the pivotal roles of Kratos and Atreus, with fans eagerly awaiting news on who will bring these iconic characters to life.
